A puzzling little blog still looking for its voice, but sometimes gets lost and has trouble finding its way.

Let Us Hope This Works
Let us see if this works a second time around. Nope. It didn't work this week either. I cannot understand why this is happening to me. Well, let's continue as if nothing is wrong, shall we. By next week, my application to Ad Sense might be processed, so I can finally run ads on my blogs and website. I just had to have Google call in with the verification code. I had forgotten that I had started the process and just needed to finish it. Speaking of finishing, last week I finished going over all of the eighty plus RPG supplements that had been damaged. I threw away a lot of material that in hindsight I should have kept, but I am over it for now. Maybe next week I can start trying new things with my posts, like having links or have that image finally show up. I am fairly certain it was downloaded properly as the other images I posted were. I guess I could go into Help for answers, but I am usually too busy for my social media day to do so. I am running out of time for today, so I am going to close out for now. There are a lot more things I need to do and little time to do them.

Now This Is Thwarted
I just tried to publish a photo for today's post. Unfortunately, something happened and the image disappeared between my posting of it last night and coming back today to finish the post. It is the same image as the cover photo on my Facebook page. I have no idea what happened between last night and today. Sure, I could try to get the image from there and link it to here, but I don't really have the expertise or the time to try and do that. I just had complications trying to set up something on the store's website as well, and I am not too happy. this is just not going to go well today. I really wanted to put up that image today. I might try to come back in a few days and try to link everything up, or just try again another day (or maybe next week) if I feel up to it. Funny, today's title would have been perfect for the image, but now it more aptly describes my feelings over what is happening here. I just had a horrible thought. I had also put pictures up on the store blog as well at the same time. What if those pictures didn't take as well? I guess I am going to finish up today, because my theme for the day does not exist here, and check the other blog out. I really need a closing line, one better then goodbye. Goodbye.

All The Nifty New Features
Earlier today, I published a bonus post on my store blog. In it, I finally used the bulleted list function from Blogger. It worked better than I imagined. Yes, I know that seems a little stupid to mention, but I am still learning about blogging, mostly on my own. Just the simple use of a list is greatly satisfying to me. In fact, I just re-read the book on Facebook, and I realized that their is some sort of blogging function for my store's page on there too. Someone needs to help navigate social media because I know next-to-nothing about what I am doing. I am not sure what I am doing just now because I think I added an extra space on the previous line before one of the "I"'s. Did I punctuate that last sentence correctly? I looks funny. It has been years since I have had to write so much and on an unfamiliar keyboard. And I have a degree in English, of all things!
I just spent a few seconds trying to draw a special character figure, represented by the line break above. That is something else I did not know I could do. Seriously, I am so wrong about so many things I am doing here, I might not should be allowed to post. Anyway, I am down to under sixty pages left to condense on my last supplement. After that, I have a few odd pages to transfer and maybe a few images I would like to save; and then I will be finished with this project. Then I can start doing something else. Still need a closer. Still need a closer. Still need a closer. (Well, that did not work.) Good-bye.

I Don't Want to Start a Resolution
The last few weeks have been rough on me. I just haven't felt like myself. Now that the holidays are over, I might start to feeling like myself again. At least I will be able to post to the blog at a more reasonable schedule. As it is, I can barely find the time to do much of anything. I barely was able to find time to type out this post and schedule it to publish at my regular time. Hopefully, I will be able to do more in the coming weeks, baring weather, for more fun time stuff. At the very least, I want to experiment with both this blog and the store blog to see what I really can do with them to make them look a whole lot better. I would like to try some of the functions I have been ignoring the last few weeks (months) just to see what they are. I will probably use more of them in the store blog first, as that one is better suited to such things. I just did not have the time I needed today to really get around to say anything. I would have had more time, but I need to try and finish going through my last supplement. I have about 150 pages or so left, and it will take me at least another week or two to get through it. It was the only core rule book that had gotten ruined that was salvageable. Anyway, that is all for this week.

Inside or Outside, It Doesn't Matter to Me
I noticed the start of the adult coloring book trend a few years ago, and I mean for audience and not just content. At first, it was just a few listing under "art" in my store's distributor catalogs; maybe an ad here or there. Now, there is an entire section dedicated to just coloring books, as well as multiple ads most months. When I was a kid in grade school, I was always put upon by my teachers for not coloring neatly and inside the lines. I would frequently use multiple colors next to or on top of each other, with many strokes going over the borders. I would even continue coloring right to the edge of the paper without considerations of what the proper color should be. I remember going so far as coloring windows blue to show there was glass in them as well as putting pink fingernails on hands even when they weren't indicated. Not too many teachers, or other people for that matter, liked my style. Of course, I calmed down a lot and learned to be a little more traditional in my artwork. I will try and load a picture soon of one of my paintings soon. Still, I think that this adult coloring trend has gone too far. I see multiple magazines dedicated to it every time I go past a newsstand. At least I think the trend is peaking, or at least it will soon. I am already seeing the first signs of a new trend (I frequently seem to be a step ahead , at least a slight majority of the time). Puzzles are coming back in a big way, trust me. The same calming effect that coloring has is starting to bleed over into puzzles. I am talking pencil puzzles and not jigsaw type here. And puzzles also train your brain. Okay, that last line was weak, so I think I should end this post now before I get even more stupid sounding. I still need a good closer. Next time.

It Happened Last Christmas . . .
(Adapted from an off-topic post from my original store blog, currently off-line.) Last Christmas, I finally got something that I had been waiting months, including an extra month delay. It was the Justice League tarot deck. At first, I was slightly disappointed due to the fact that an instruction book wasn't included. As an artistic deck, a divination guide wouldn't have been included anyway, but some sort of explanation would have been nice. You see, some of the conventions used did not make much sense. Some of suit symbols were original designs and did not seem to conform to any one style. Some of the character and costume choices were unusual to say the least. Many of the designs were from the pre-Flashpoint era. In particular were two, The Hermit and the King of Pentacles. They were respectively Dr. Manhattan and Ozymandias from Watchmen. At the time, a thought it was just artistic choice. That is until DC Rebirth came out this past May. Hints in it included the possible interference of those very same characters in the DC universe. Many other characters and costumes were brought back at that time as well, as foretold in the deck. Now, if anyone else has pointed this out already, I am sorry to bring it up again. I haven't been looking online for such a coincidence, so I may be late to the party on this. Still, I needed a quick post for this week to set up. Until next time.

The Point to All of This
I do have one, after all. I had an idea while reading one of my supplements one time. It wasn't that big an idea; it was just a partially thrown out line that might not have meant anything. It meant something to me. It gave me such a big idea that I wanted to do something about it, like maybe submit an idea for a whole new line to the publisher. It took me awhile, but I was finally going to give it a go. It was early August, 2003. You may know what happened. The entire game system, all lines, would be ending in a huge way, only to be replaced with a different set of game-lines following soon after. Well, I would have to wait and see what the new systems were going to be like before I could do anything. I got my copies of the first books in 2004. However, I would have to wait until more books came out before I could decide how best to adapt my ideas. With each new line, I had to change a little something her and there, but this would only make it better. Unfortunately, I was to afraid to do more than make my own little framework. I waited so long that everything about the company changed, from distribution lines to the actual business it did work under. They even used an idea I had in one recent line. Now, I seem to be stuck. I would like to go on in some way with this idea, perhaps using the updated "20" line for the original, but I am still too afraid to jump on it. It would be such a good fit for me, but I have so many doubts. What if it isn't good enough? What if someone else already has conflicting plans? I don't know what to do, but I don't want to do anything either. I am stuck between cowardice and stasis with an unseen way out, for now. There will be a way. See, figuratively, you next week.
